WS Rural Contracting is a family-run business based in Gungal NSW, led by William Stair and Sophie Bates.
What areas do you service?
We work across the Upper Hunter and surrounds, including Singleton, Muswellbrook, Scone, Denman, Merriwa, Aberdeen, Broke and Jerrys Plains. We can travel for projects further afield, so get in touch if you're outside our usual area.
What services do you offer?
Fencing, excavation, site levelling and shed pads, vegetation management, spot spraying and restoration projects.
Do you take on small jobs?
Yes. From a single strainer post to a full site cut, no job is too small.
Do you work on residential and commercial properties?
Yes. Along with rural properties, we take on residential and commercial projects, including fencing and site preparation.

What should I include in my quote request?
Your property location, a description of the job and any photos. You can attach JPG, PNG, GIF or SVG files to the form.
Services
What types of fencing do you install?
We build stock and boundary fencing, replace old or storm-damaged lines, and install strainers, gates and laneways. For homes and businesses we install boundary, privacy and security fencing. Our Bobcat post driver attachment makes post installation quick and precise.
Why choose spot spraying over blanket spraying?
Spot spraying treats problem weeds where they grow. It keeps costs down, protects your pasture and crops, and reduces chemical use.
Can you prepare a shed pad to my builder's levels?
Yes. We cut, fill and compact pads for sheds, garages, homes, water tanks and driveways, working to the levels your builder or shed supplier needs.
Can you dig trenches for water and power lines?
Yes. We trench for water, power and irrigation lines, and install drainage to move water away from buildings and roads.
Do you repair erosion?
Yes. We repair gullies and washouts and stabilise disturbed ground. We look at what is causing the damage and recommend a practical fix that suits your property and budget.
Do you clear land and firebreaks?
Yes. We clear regrowth and scrub, mulch timber on site and cut back vegetation along fence lines, tracks and firebreaks, working to your plan and local requirements.
Do you offer any other services?
Trenching with a Bobcat trencher attachment, rural fabrication, seeding and pest management are coming soon. Ask us about them when you call.
